"Here I Am" Challah Board - Ready to Ship

$280.00

Every color on this board comes from the wood itself. The design uses maple, cherry and padauk. Each piece is inlaid by hand into a solid walnut board, so the design sits flush with the surface, and the grain runs through every letter and leaf.

The board is 12" × 16", sized to hold two medium loaves side by side for hamotzi. Recessed handles routed into the underside make it easy to lift and carry to the table, and they keep the top clean and uninterrupted. The board is finished with Odie’s Oil, a food-safe natural finish that brings out the depth of the walnut and the contrast in the inlay.

The Hebrew reads Hineini, “Here I am,” the answer given by Abraham, Moses, and Samuel when they were called, an expression of being fully present.

It’s made in my Boston workshop, and it’s meant to become part of your Shabbat and holiday table for years to come. It’s also a meaningful gift for a wedding, a housewarming, or a new home.

Knife marks on the inlay side will scratch the finish and can wear down the inlay over time.
